** Warning, This is a braging post on my boys ***
Blake and Garrett has enjoyed this years baseball season....
Garretts team played very well this year and he had a ton of fun. While they did not win first place in their division, they did give a good run at the end. It was a very interesting year to say the least. Garrett did lead the team in batting average but I don't know what his batting average was. Next year he will start kid pitch which changes the game all the way around. Garrett has a great throwing arm so I will begin to work with him in the off season on pitching. He has shown interest in this position (just like his dad) and I have to say he has a stronger arm than I had at his age and he is very accurate. Although, Garrett is looking forward to basketball a lot more than baseball. Basketball season will start in November once we move.
Blake loves baseball and had a great year. Blake's team won the Desoto County City Clash Chapionship where all the teams in desoto county play (you can read more in my earlier post). Blake's team also went undefeated all the while Blake played Short Stop and clean up batter. Blake led the team in batting average with a .950 (no strikeouts), and led the teams in home runs. Although, I will have to say that Blake's greatest performance came in the field. Blake was playing one of our main rivals beating them in 5 innings. Blake threw out 11 of the 15 batters in this game.
Blake was first team, first pick for all-stars this year and is looking forward to playing in tournaments. (Yep, that means very hot days in the sun watching good ole baseball) This means over the next month, Blake will play in tournaments that could ultimetly lead up to the World Series. Although, I don't think we will make it this far or even win State, it will be interesting to see how this all works out.
Thanks for hearing me brag on my boys.
